END OF SEMINAR PROGRAM
*Program as of 9/13/11 and subject to change
China’s heavy-duty market is slowing down significantly after a robust year in 2010. Heavy-duty truck sales in the first six months totaled 540,000 units, down 7 percent from the same period last year. Semi-tractor trailers, the fastest growing segment last year, saw sales drop a steep 32 percent during the period to 137,000 units, in sharp contrast to the triple digit growth in the same previous period.
It is likely, as was predicted by analysts at last year’s seminar, that the market may see a negative growth this year. It will be meaningful for executives and analysts to get together again this year to discuss recent developments and find out how to confront the new challenges.
These are the reasons why we believe the best theme for our 2011 Heavy-Duty Seminar – Affordability, Efficiency, Technology and Branding -- Confronting a Slowed Heavy-Duty Market in China.
The 2011 Heavy-Duty Seminar will kick off with a welcome dinner on October16 (Sunday 19:00-21:00) and feature a cocktail reception on October 17. The one-and-half day general session will again feature keynote addresses from CEOs of multinational and domestic manufacturers and suppliers, government officials, industry analysts as well as a round-table discussion, with simultaneous interpretation. The 2011 Heavy-Duty Seminar is expected to attract approximately 150 attendees.
As in the past, the 2011 Heavy-Duty Seminar will be covered by our weekly e-newsletters CBU-Auto (English) and Zhongguo Qiche Yaowen (Chinese, www.cbuauto.com.cn), our new bi-weekly newsletter CBU-HeavyDuty (English), and our monthly magazine China Automotive Review (www.chinaautoreview.com). It will also will also be broadcast live by leading Chinese automotive portals and covered by international and local business and professional media through our free media attendance program.
Since 1996, CBU international conferences and seminars have evolved into a unique gathering of Chinese and multinational executives. They have become both value-added industry events for in-depth discussions of the China market and high-level networking opportunities.
Our 2010 Heavy-Duty Seminar was successfully held in Beijing on December 13, 2010 with the largest scale nationwide, attracting over 150 attendees and 14 speakers from local and multinational companies.
CBU/CAR is also planning to hold our third annual Global Automotive Symposium (GAS 2012) on April 24-25, 2012 at the Yuyang Hotel in Beijing, to discuss Sales, Distribution and Aftersales Service − Opportunities of China’s $80 Billion Aftermarket.
