CBU is proud to announce that our bi-weekly electronic newsletter, CBU-SmartEV, was off the press on October 21, 2015. This is Volume 5 No. 1 in recognition of our former newsletter, CBU-EVHybrid, published in 2010-2013.

CBU-SmartEV is a 10-page newsletter in PDF format delivered to our readers worldwide. It is our insights and intelligence on China's new energy vehicle industry, which covers the expanding smart, connected, hybrid, electric, fuel cell and other alternative fuel vehicle market.

The unique publication in English, no less than 20 issues a year, features government policies, laws & regulations, news analyses, commentaries, interviews and China's fast development of the Internet + innovations and activities in the automobile sector.

With favorable policy incentives and national long-term development plans, domestic and multinational automakers in China have given priority to NEV investment and product development. China's NEV output reached 156,200 units in the first nine months of the year, up 3 folds year on year.

In the meantime, leading internet giants such as Alibaba, Tencent, LeTV, Baidu and many others are moving into the development of connected and smart cars. Given the most recent efforts on the part of both automakers and internet giants, China is poised not only to see revolutionary changes to the traditional vehicle manufacturing industry but also to make innovative breakthroughs in vehicle electrification and connected vehicles as a global player.

CBU-SmartEV is therefore a must-read for OEMs, suppliers, internet companies, investors, consultancies, government agencies and trade associations to understand China's NEV market and future growth.

Each issue of CBU-SmartEV features 2-3 in-depth articles, such as news analyses, corporate and executive profiles, interviews and commentaries.

Major columns will include, but not limited to: Laws & Regulations, NEV Products, R&D, Trade Shows, Conference & Seminar, Editor's Note, Import & Export, Infrastructure, OEM News, Supplier News, Sales & Marketing, Upcoming Events, etc.

CBU-SmartEV will be delivered to subscribers on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday every month. After the relaunch on October 21, three more issues will be published in 2015.

Our executive editor for CBU-SmartEV is Katrina Dong, who also heads our office in Guangzhou. Katrina has been working at CBU for three years since graduation from the Beijing Foreign Studies University with a major in English and Journalism. Until most recently, she has been an assistant editor for our flag-ship weekly e-newsletter, CBU-Auto.
