HEFEI, Anhui – Ankai Automobile Co., Ltd. (Ankai) recently delivered 20 KZ-2A public transport buses to Cyprus, according to a report in Anhui Daily.
The buses were developed exclusively for the local market, offering more advanced features and also meeting local regulatory requirements by adding safety or warning signs where necessary, emergency first-aid kits near the driver’s seat and improved air-conditioning.
This latest vehicle export from Ankai caps a banner year for the company in bus export. In 2011, Ankai received orders for the export of 3,000 school buses to Saudi Arabia, 350 long-distance buses to Russia and 34 double-decker buses to London.
Ankai, as China’s first bus maker to introduce European technologies, was established in 1997 and became a part of Jianghuai Automobile Corp. (JAC) in 2003.
