April sales of Korean A0-class cars down 20.2 percent in China

BEIJING— April sales of Korean brands’ locally produced A0-class cars in China dropped by 20.2 percent year-on-year to 25,786 units, and their market share was down by 3.2 percentage points to 18.82 percent.

Beijing-Hyundai sales in the segment were 12,884 units, down 31 percent and Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia 12.920 units, down 5.2 percent.

In the first four months, the combined sales of Korean brands came up to 109,599 units, up 1.64 percent, and their market share was down by 0.6 percentage points to 18.02 percent compared to the same period of last year.

Sales of Beijing-Hyundai were 61,009 units, down 6.3 percent, and those of Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia grew by 13.8 percent to 48,590 units.
