August sales of French brands’ A-class cars up 17.2 percent in China

BEIJING— August sales of French brands’ locally produced A-class cars in China rose 17.2 percent on a yearly basis to 23,769 units, and their market share was up by 0.1 percentage point to 4.4 percent.

Citroën and Peugeot sales in the segment were 16,765 and 7,004 units, up 32.2 and down 7.8 percent.

In the first eight months of this year, the combined sales of French brands in the segment were 196,665 units, up 20.4 percent with the market share of 4.58 percent.

Citroën sales during the period were 135,405 units, up 27.8 percent and Peugeot 61,260 units, up 6.73 percent.
