Automakers report 2014 sales

At the beginning of the new year, a number of automakers released their sales performance in China in 2014. The following are sales data of some of the automakers in China for the year 2014.

Dongfeng Motor Corp. (DFM) sold 3.8 million vehicles in 2014, up 7.6 percent from 2013. Dongfeng-Nissan, Dongfeng-Peugeot-Citroën Automobile Co. (DPCA), Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia, Dongfeng-Honda, Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Co. (DFPV), Dongfeng-Yulon and Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor Co. sold 954,000, 704,000, 646,000, 308,000, 80,000, 52,000 and 280,000 vehicles respectively last year.

GAC Group sold 1.17 million vehicles in 2014, an increase of 17 percent. Its two joint ventures GAC-Fiat and GAC-Mitsubishi sold 68,000 and 63,100 vehicles respectively, up 40.8 and 46.9 percent.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) sold 730,800 vehicles including 118,300 pickups, 519,400 SUVs and 93,000 passenger cars in 2014, down 3.1 percent from 2013.

Sales of Shanghai-GM reached 1.76 million vehicles, up 11.7 percent. Sales of Shanghai-Volkswagen were 1.73 million vehicles, up 13 percent. SAIC-GM-Wuling sold 1.81 million vehicles, a 12.8 percent increase year-on-year.

Ford sold 1.11 million vehicles in China in 2014, an increase of 19 percent from 2013. Chang’an-Ford reported a sales record of 801,603 vehicles, up 18 percent.

Honda sold 788,276 vehicles in China in 2014, up 4.1 percent from 2013. Sales of GAC-Honda increased 10.2 percent to 480,060 vehicles last year.

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and its Chinese joint venture partner sold 1.22 million vehicles in China in 2014, up 0.5 percent from a year earlier.

Toyota sold 1.03 million vehicles in China in 2014, up 12.5 percent.

Mazda Motor Corp. and its two joint ventures sold 211,013 vehicles in China in 2014, up 13 percent on a yearly basis.

Suzuki sold 268,000 vehicles in China in 2014, up 14 percent.

Hyundai sold 1.81 million passenger vehicles (including imports) in China in 2014, up 12 percent.

Bentley sold 2,670 vehicles in China in 2014, a 21.9 percent increase from 2013.

Volkswagen Group sold 3.68 million vehicles in China in 2014, up 12.4 percent.
