HONG KONG – BAIC Motor Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement with LeTV in Hong Kong on March 23, according to a company news release.
This agreement signifies the integration of BAIC’s vehicle R&D experience and capability and LeTV’s advantages in Internet technology and software/hardware. The two parties will create a brand new Internet smart vehicle and vehicle ecosystem with an asset-light brand hand in hand.
LeTV will provide an Internet smart car system, EUI operating system and telematics system for BAIC Motor. LeTV’s self-developed EUI system works across cars, mobile phones, TVs and other smart terminals. EUI for Auto is China’s first smart car UI operating system and will form the foundation of the Internet smart car to be produced jointly by the two companies.
The first car is expected to debut at Auto Shanghai in April and more details will be disclosed during the show.
