BEIJING – Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corp. plans to enter a joint venture with Plastic Omnium Auto Inergy to produce fuel systems in China.
The partnership, to be 60 percent owned by Plastic Omnium, will use the French supplier’s Beijing factory, which makes fuel systems for Hyundai Motor Co.
The joint venture will help Plastic Omnium gain business with BAIC, Daimler AG and Hyundai, Plastic Omnium said in a written statement. BAIC has joint ventures with Hyundai and Daimler.
Plastic Omnium is a wholly owned unit of Compagnie Plastic Omnium SA of Levallois, France. The company has 12 plants in China that produce exterior components, composites and fuel systems.
