BEIJING–BMW China and BMW Brilliance launched 2007 BMW Childre’s Traffic Safety Education on May 31.
It is the third year that BMW has held the similar project with the theme of traffic safety since 2005.
The program aims at helping children learn knowledge of traffic safety, raising their awareness of traffic safety, and enhancing their capability of self-protection through lively activities.
The first station of this activity will be held on June 15 in Shenyang, capital of Northeast Liaoning Province and the activity will roll out to 15 key cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Chongqing in the next several months.
Over 1,500 children aged from four to six will participate in the project, learning songs and knowledge of traffic safety under the supervision of specialists and teachers.
BMW China President and CEO Dr. Christoph Stark said at the press conference, “BMW has attached great importance to safety for years. We have been endeavoring not only to improve safety performance of our automobiles, but also to improve the safety of all road users.”
BMW plans to cooperate with education departments of different levels to promote childre’s traffic safety education in the following years.
