BMW opens new parts distribution center in Shanghai

SHANGHAI – BMW Group opened a new parts distribution center in Shanghai on April 9.

About 31,000 parts and components of BMW and Mini brand vehicles sold in China are stored in the center, which is the largest of the group in Asia with planned area of 70,000 square meters. BMW motorcycle components, BMW accessories and BMW Lifestyle products can also be delivered from the center.

Currently, BMW has four distribution centers in Shanghai, Beijing, Foshan, Guangdong Province and Chengdu, Sichuan Province in the country. The Shanghai distribution center delivered 40 percent of orders in 2014.

BMW has planed the fifth distribution center in Shenyang, Liaoning Province to meet customer demands in Northeast China. The Shenyang center is under construction now and will be put into operation in the first quarter of 2016.
