BYD together with ADL gets order of 12 Enviro200 electric buses

MERSEYSIDE, UK – BYD together with Alexander Dennis Co., Ltd. (ADL) had won their first external order of 12 Enviro200 12-meter electric buses for local operator Arriva on October 25.

This batch of buses, expected to be delivered by mid-2017, will provide service on the City Centre Circular Route 26, from the Liverpool one bus station to Arriva’s Green bus depot where eight BYD chargers have been installed.

The Arriva vehicles will feature 38 seats, a mix of Esteban Civic V3 and ADL designed units, space for 32 people standing and USB charging points.

The new buses are designed to operate a full day’s duty cycle on one charge of lower cost off electricity and will be charged overnight to achieve daily operation and total mileage of 150 to 190 miles.

BYD also announced that it has won a contract to supply 11 of its own vehicles to Cape Town, South Africa.
