Beijing — Beijing-Hyundai launched the 2.0L MT 4×2 Fashion variant of the Tucson SUV on May 28, at a retail price of ¥169,800 ($21,225).
This variant is the fourth in the Tucson family, which includes the 2.0L MT 4×2 Comfort, 2.0L MT 4×4 Luxury and 2.7L AT 4×4 Luxury. They are priced, respectively, at ¥165,800, ¥195,800 and ¥235,800.
Compared with the old 2.0L MT 4×2 Comfort, the new variant adds a roof rack and dual front airbags. Exterior width and height of the model are also extended from 1,795 mm and 1,680 mm respectively to 1,830 mm and 1,730 mm.
The company claims that the launch of this new variant is a measure to tackle sub-markets within the SUV segment.
Beijing-Hyundai launched the Tucson one year ago. Monthly sales of the model have averaged at about 2,000 units. In the first four months of this year, the Tucson sold 8,449 units.
