Beijing’s new vehicle sales up 16.6 percent in November

BEIJING— Beijing’s new vehicle sales in November rose 16.6 percent year-on-year to 50,500 units, and its combined sales in the first 11 months were 527,500 units up 46.5 percent, according to the data released by Beijing Asian Games Village Auto Mart recently.

Meanwhile, the used vehicle sales in the city grew 13.3 percent to 62,000 units during the month.

Yan Jinghui, the vice general manager of the Mart, said that the new vehicle sales in 2012 are expected to reach 580,000 units with an increase of 45 percent, and that of used vehicles will rise 67 percent to 670,000 units.

Meanwhile, the new and used vehicle sales of Beijing in 2013, according to Yan’s prediction, will reach 600,000 and 700,000 units respectively, with the growth rate dropping to 5 percent.
