TAICANG, Jiangsu – Brose held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new production base in Taicang, Jiangsu Province on November 28.
Covering an area of over 60,000 square meters, the new Taicang plant will have a workforce of 500 people and will be put into operation in 2018. By 2022, the plant is expected to have a business revenue of over ¥2.2 billion ($338.46 million).
The Taicang plant will produce Brose’s all series of products, including door systems, window glass lifters, door locks, seat systems, seat rails and seat motors, which will be supplied to its customers in China and overseas including Ford, Geely, Land Rover, Volkswagen and Volvo.
“The production base in Taicang is close to our customers and will thus help further expand our business here in China,” said Ma Zhelei, COO of Brose Asia. “It is pleasant that we can help bring more jobs for locals here and that Taicang municipal government has granted us huge help. We will continue to maintain good cooperation with Taicang government.”
