ZHUZHOU, Hunan – Hunan CSR Times Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. launched the phase II new energy bus plant on November 30, according to Hunan News Net.
The new plant is capable of manufacturing over 10,000 units of electric, range-extended plug-in, and plug-in hybrid new energy buses and 20,000 units/sets of key components each year.
CSR Times invested ¥750 million ($120 million) in establishing the first new energy vehicle plant in August 2007. Phase II of the plant focuses on producing range-extended plug-in and pure electric public buses. These products can save 50 percent fuel per100 km and ¥86,000 in fuel costs each year, according to the company.
The company has sold over 1,000 range-extended plug-in public buses to-date, and the launch of the new plant this time will help establish a new energy vehicle industrial chain valued at over ¥12.5 billion in Hunan Province.
