CHONGQING – Chang’an-Suzuki Automobile Co., Ltd. broke ground for its second manufacturing plant here on April 16, according to a report from Chongqing Economic Times.
With an investment of ¥2.3 billion ($365.7 million), the first-phase project is expected to start production at the end of 2013, with an annual output capacity of 100,000 vehicles. The plant will covers about 1.35 million square meters. An estimated pre-tax profit of ¥1.3 billion will be realized and 3,000 jobs will be created.
It plans to introduce two all-new vehicles developed by Suzuki Motor covering A-class to B-class models. It would also become Suzuki Motor’s most advanced and greenest benchmarking plant in China after construction is completed.
The first new model produced by the second plant will be launched at the end of 2013.
