Changsha to put 400 new BEV buses on the roads

CHANGSHA – The city of Changsha will be adding 400 new BEV buses to the city’s public transport routes by the end of this year, according to a Changsha Evening News report.

Currently, Changsha has 4175 buses on the road. More than 2000 of these are NEVs, but currently only 100 are BEVs. The city plans to bring the number of BEVs to 1000 by the end of 2015.

Changsha has also enacted a city-wide discount for public transportation this year. This has increased the daily use of public transportation to 2.15 million passengers, a 7 percent increase from 2013.
