GUANGZHOU – Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. showcased over 10 vehicles at Auto Guangzhou 2009, including the Tiggo DR, Fulwin2, A5, Cowin and 2010 version of A3.
The Tiggo DR is jointly developed by Chery and Italy’s DR Group. Currently, the Tiggo DR is available in more than 60 countries and regions, and its accumulative sales have surpassed 100,000 units. The 1.6L and 2.0L Tiggo DR variants are priced at ¥160,000 ($23,188) and ¥190,000 respectively in the Italian market.
The domestically produced Tiggo DR has 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L variants. Chery plans to start selling the Tiggo DR in the first half of 2010. The company will also continue to make more modifications and improvements on the vehicle.
Chery’s first mini SUV Riich X1, powered by its Acteco 1.3L engine, hit the market a few days before the auto show. The Riich X1 and Riich M1 bear similar appearances.
Chery plans to launch up to 20 new models in 2010 to further explore domestic and overseas markets.
According to CBU-Autostats, Chery sold 371,501 vehicles in the first 10 months this year, a rise of 25.11 percent from the same period a year ago.
