China commercial vehicle export drops 36 percent to 69,000 through to April

BEIJING – China exported 54,000 automobiles in April, down 5.5 percent on a monthly basis and 12.9 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

Export of commercial vehicles decreased 0.5 and 32.5 percent on a monthly and yearly basis. Passenger vehicle export reached 34,000 units in the same month, down 8.2 percent monthly and up 5.2 percent yearly.

The country exported 190,000 units of automobiles in the first four months of the year, down 22.4 percent compared with the previous year. Commercial vehicle export dropped 36 percent to 69,000 units, and passenger vehicle export slid 11.7 percent to 121,000 units.
