China now second in Tesla charging network coverage behind U.S.

BEIJING – Tesla has established more than 200 super charging poles in about 30 cities and 1,000 destination charging poles in over 70 cities in China, in collaboration with China Unicom and China Minsheng Banking Corp, according to Wang Wenjia, engineering director for Tesla Asia Pacific.

China now ranks second in Tesla charging network coverage after the U.S.

The leading EV maker now owns nine experience and service centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, Chengdu, Sichuan Province and Xi’an, Shaanxi Province.

The company’s Model X and Models 3 are expected to start mass production this year and in 2017 respectively.
