China sets timetable of State-V emissions standards for diesel vehicles

BEIJING – China plans to implement the State-V emissions standards for diesel engine vehicles gradually around the country starting on April 1, 2016.

All the imported, sold and registered light gasoline vehicles, light diesel engine vehicles, and heavy-duty diesel engine vehicles (limited to public transportation buses, sanitary and post vehicles) in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shandong and Guangdong should be in accordance with the State-V emissions standards starting on April 1, 2016.

The whole country will officially implement the State-V standards for all light gas vehicles, heavy-duty diesel vehicles (limited to buses and public transportation buses, sanitary, and post vehicles) that manufactured, imported, sold and registered in China starting from January 1, 2017.

All kinds of diesel engine heavy-duty vehicles that manufactured, imported, sold and registered in China regardless of types should be in accordance with the above standards starting on July 1, 2017.

All light-duty diesel engine vehicles that manufactured, imported, sold and registered in China should measure up to the State-V emissions standards starting on January 1, 2018.
