China to ban the sale of below State-V standards gas and diesel from 2017

BEIJING – China will supply State-V emissions standard-compliant gasoline (including E10 ethanol), and diesel (including B5 biodiesel) in all regions starting on January 1, 2017, according a joint statement of 11 government departments including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection on February 17, 2016.

All regions in the country will stop selling gas and diesel below the State-V emissions standards at the beginning of 2017.

State-V standards gas and diesel have been supplied in the 11 provinces and cities in eastern China starting on January 1, 2016. Meanwhile, the 11 provinces and cities have stopped providing gas and diesel that below the State-V emissions standards.
