China’s engine sales by May up 11.81 percent

BEIJING – A total of 8,375,943 engines were sold from January to May this year in China with a stable growth of 11.81 percent year-on-year, according to data released by qipeiren.com.

National engine production and sales in May reached 1,668,554 and 1,689,157 units.

Cumulative production and sales of China’s diesel engines in the first five months reached 1,677,836 and1, 670,587 units, up 9.85 and 4.94 percent on a yearly basis, according to the data.

Combined sales of the top 10 diesel engine makers during the period came to 1,455,739 units, accounting for more than 87 percent of the total sales.

In May, diesel engine output and sales were 310,378 and 335,349 units.
