China’s vehicle import volume in November drops 26.1 percent

BEIJING – China imported 79,800 vehicles in November, down 26.1 percent on a yearly basis, the second consecutive monthly drop this year, according to the latest data released from Sinomach Automobile Co., Ltd.

The combined vehicle import volume during the first 11 months of the country rose 12.4 percent to 1,017,000 units, including 997,000 passenger vehicles with an increase of 12.8 percent, showed the data.

In November, SUV’s import volume reached 46,000 units, accounting for 57.8 percent of total volume, while imported cars and MPVs were 29,000 and 4,600 units, taking up 36.2 and 6 percent of total import volume respectively.

BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz took the top three positions with import volume of 15,259, 9,405 and 7,957 units in the month.

The discount range of imported vehicles in November was 10.8 percent, according to the data.

In addition, the sales growth rate of imported vehicles involving 20 brands decreased to 20.3 percent over the period of January to October, according to the data from CICA.
