Chinese Pand Da and SCAS to distribute Ssangyong SUVs in China

PYEONGTAEK, South Korea − Pang Da Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. and SCAS Investment Group Co., Ltd., two largest automobile distributors in China, have signed an agreement on June 8 with South Korea’s SUV and car maker Ssangyong Motor Company (Ssangyong) to import and distribute Ssangyong’s SUVs in China, according to a press release from Indian utility vehicles and tractors manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra, parent company of Ssangyong.

According to the agreement, the three parties plan to establish about 150 dealerships across China by the year 2013. With Ssangyong’s new Korando as the flagship model, Ssangyong plans to export 30,000 to 50,000 vehicles annually to China by 2013, aiming at the largest imported SUV brand in the largest auto market.
