Chinese brands’ SUV sales up 66.1 percent in April

BEIJING— Chinese brands’ SUV sales in April rose 66.1 percent on a yearly basis to 79,728 units in the country, and their market share was up by 3.5 percentage points to 37.2 percent.

The combined sales of Great Wall SUV models in the month reached 29,902 units with an increase of 108 percent.

A total of 324,793 Chinese brands’ SUVs were sold in the first four months, up 69.3 percent, and their market share was 40.19 percent, up nearly 5 percentage points compared to the same period of last year.

Great Wall sales in the segment during the period came up to 112,440 units, up 110.7 percent.
