CHANGCHUN, Jilin – Continental Changchun plant’s 20,000,000th engine control unit (ECU) rolled off the production line on August 25, setting a new milestone in China, according to a Continental news release.
This innovative 32-bit Easy-U engine control unit is the core component of the engine electronic control system of the economical vehicles in the Chinese market and can be applied to nearly all types of engines and vehicles due to its module design. In order to meet the increasingly stringent requirements on exhaust gas emissions and fuel consumption, the newly updated Easy-Us of MPI and GDI are capable to meet the requirements of China’s corporate average fuel consumption (CAFC) and Euro-VI emissions standards. It can also support turbochargers and vehicles with start-stop function.
“For the past 20 years, we have been committed to providing ECU solutions which are adopted widely into the passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the Chinese automotive market. Our unique perceptions in design and production capability enable us to satisfy all kinds of needs exhibited by Chinese consumers and we are proud of this,” said Roberts Abele, global vice president of ECU. “To meet the requirements of low cost, reliability and low emission, we are devoted to develop products with high flexibility, which can prepare us better for the diversified Chinese market in terms of production capability and technical expertise.”
Continental Automotive Electronics (Changchun) Co., Ltd. was established 20 years ago as one of the earliest production plants for Continental in China.
