SHENZHEN – The all new D1g1tal Dr1ve, a driving system for electric cars and light duty trucks and vans jointly developed by Remy Electric Motors and MotoCzysz has been unveiled at the 25th World Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS25) in Shenzhen, China.
The D1g1tal Dr1ve is a complete system of matched integrated components – including motor, controller, proprietary cooling system, final drive and differential – enclosed in a lightweight aluminum shell to deliver unprecedented efficiency and compactness.
“Despite its small size, the Remy HVH 250 motor inside ensures the D1g1tal Dr1ve makes no sacrifice in power. And, the Remy motor is backed by the security of over a billion miles of proven reliability,” said Remy CEO John Weber.
In addition to reduced installation and assembly time, the D1g1tal Dr1ve improves system durability and makes service and warranty work easier and less costly. For example, all the electronics are mounted on a single chassis allowing for installation in less than 30 minutes.
Scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2011, the D1g1tal Dr1ve is the smallest packaging solution available for an integrated electric drive system while producing up to 1150 N-m of torque and 75kW of power with the Remy HVH 250 motor.
Remy International, Inc. is a leading global manufacturer, remanufacturer and distributor of light duty starters and alternators and Delco Remy brand heavy-duty systems.
MotoCzysz is a design and engineering firm that has been awarded numerous patents and now focuses primarily on electric drive systems and electric vehicles.
