Daimler recalls 15 imported Mercedes-Benz semi-trailers in China

BEIJING – Daimler Trucks and Buses (China) Co., Ltd. is recalling 15 Mercedes-Benz Actros 2641 (6×4) and Actros 2644 (6×4) semi-trailers since May 13, according to a statement of the Chinese quality watchdog, the Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

The 15 imported trucks were produced from November 20, 2013, to November 12, 2014, said the company.

The recall follows concerns that an improper flange angle between the rear axles may cause overheating to the universal joint, possibly resulting in noise, vibration and even the falling-off of the universal joint pins, according to the statement.

For the recalled vehicles, Daimler Trucks and Buses provides free check and repairs to eliminate the defects and avoid malfunctions.
