SHANGHAI – Dayna Hart has been appointed director of Communications for the GM China Group, effective June 1, according to a company press release.
Based in Shanghai, Hart will oversee GM’s public relations and communications activities across China. She also serves as GM’s interface with its Chinese joint ventures.
As a veteran, Hart has held several important product, internal, corporate and financial communications positions in GM since she joined the Detroit-based automaker in 1988. Hart has worked closely with the Chevrolet and Buick brands as well as GM’s former GMAC financing unit. Among her previous posts were group manager of Buick-GMC Communications and most recently director of Corporate and Product Communications for GM International Operations (GMIO) in Shanghai.
“We are fortunate to have an experienced professional like Dayna lead our communications function in one of GM’s most important markets,” said Kevin Wale, president and managing director of the GM China Group. “She will play a key role in promoting our company’s extensive operations in China while helping train our growing local team.”
