SHENZHEN – The Denza, a battery-electric vehicle developed by Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co., Ltd. (BDNT), will see its world premiere in April 2014 at the Auto China trade fair in Beijing, according to a Daimler company news release.
At the moment, BDNT is focusing on intensive testing of pre-production models.
Winter tests will soon begin in Northeast China after the dusty and hot summer testing programs in South China have been accomplished.
Production tests are also ongoing in the Shenzhen plant.
The first Denza dealership will open its doors in Beijing mid next year. Further dealerships are built up simultaneously in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
Three of China’s leading automobile dealership groups, Zhongsheng Group Holdings Limited (Zhongsheng Group), Lei Shing Hong Auto (China) Management Co., Ltd. (LSH), and Pangda Automobile Trade Co., Ltd. (Pangda Group), will become the first dealers responsible for the distribution and service of Denza electric vehicles.
Established in 2011 with headquarters in Shenzhen, BDNT, a joint venture between BYD and Daimler, is dedicated solely to new energy vehicles.
In the JV with 250 engineers and experts, BYD is providing its expertise in battery technology and e-drive systems, while Daimler is focusing on vehicle architecture, safety and reliability.
