FAW recalls the Besturn B50 due to airbag glitch

BEIJING – FAW Car Co., a branch of state-owned FAW Group headquartered in northeast China’s Jilin Province, began to recall 15,798 Besturn B50 sedans as of January 10, 2015 due to an airbag defect, according to a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

The cars to be recalled were manufactured between February 9 and June 30 of 2014, AQSIQ said in the statement.

AQSIQ said there were concerns that the airbag control units in the affected vehicles were not functioning properly.

FAW will replace the defective parts free of charge.
