BEIJING— February sales of Chinese brands’ A0-class car dropped 7.8 percent on a yearly basis to 42,810 units, and their market share was 35.8 percent, up 0.7 percentage points.
The combined sales of the top 10 models of the brands reached 30,761 units, accounting for 71.8 percent of the total sales.
Geely led the segment among the Chinese brands with the sales at 9,182 units, down 5.8 percent. Chang’an and Tianjin-FAW took the second and third positions by the respective sales of 8,249 and 6,792 units, up 42.2 and down 55 percent.
Chinese brand sales in the segment in the first two months totaled 126,018 units, up 18 percent year-on-year, and their market share was up by 2.1 percentage points to 39.1 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Geely ranked the No.1 by the sales of 29,345 units, up 7 percent during the period.
