February sales of Korean A0-class cars down 2 percent in China

BEIJING—February sales of Korean brands’ locally produced A0-class cars in China declined by 2 percent on a yearly basis to 21,480 units, and their market share was 17.9 percent, up 1.3 percentage points.

Beijing-Hyundai sales in the segment reached 12,271 units, down 5.2 percent, but those of Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia rose 2.5 percent to 9,209 units in the month.

The combined sales of Korean brands in the first two months this year reached 59,164 units, up 25 percent, and their market share was up by 2 percentage points to 18.3 percent compared to the same month of last year.

Hyundai sales during the period were 35,955 units, up 19.5 percent and Kia 23,209 units, up 34.5 percent.
