Foreign auto group sales in China in Jan-Sep 2016
According to data compiled from manufacturer reported data, 16 foreign auto groups sold 12.2 million vehicles in China from January to September 2016.
Volkswagen Group sold 2.85 million vehicles in China, up 10.7 percent. GM sold nearly 2.72 million vehicles, up 9 percent. Hyundai-Kia Group sales increased 4.12 percent to 1,183,000 units. BMW Group sales reached 379,176 units, up 10.6 percent, while Mercedes-Benz sales were right behind at 344,791 units, surging 29.5 percent. FCA sold 102,238 vehicles (only based on GAC-FCA sales), up a whopping 326 percent thanks to the locally produced Jeep Cherokee and Renegade. For the major Japanese brands including Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Suzuki and Mitsubishi, their combined sales reached 2.86 million units.
Chinese auto group sales in China in Jan-Sep 2016
According to data compiled from Chinese manufacturer reported data, 15 Chinese auto groups sold 17.65 million vehicles in China containing local brands and foreign brands from January to September in 2016.
SAIC Motor sold 4.48 million vehicles, up 8.42 percent. Dongfeng sales reached 2.91 million units, up 10.62 percent. FAW Group sales increased 11.8 percent to 2.25 million units, followed by Chang’an, which saw sales increase 8.15 percent to 2.2 million units. BAIC Group sales were up by 17.32 percent to 1.52 million units. GAC Group sales jumped 32.18 percent to 1,149,048 units. And Geely sales surged 29 percent to 459,041 units, while Lifan sales dropped 12.88 percent to 87,491 units.
