BEIJING – Beiqi-Foton launched its Loxa heavy-duty machinery plant in Huairou district, Beijing recently, reported Beijing Daily.
With an investment of ¥2 billion ($321 million), the plant plans to produce 4,500 crane machinery equipments annually and sets clean energy such as LNG as its key project.
Beiqi-Foton applies the Auman heavy-duty truck chassis technology, which is developed based on Foton-Daimler chassis technology, to the production of crane and pumping equipments, and expands its product lineup from automotive products to high value-added high-end construction machinery products.
With Foton-Daimler’s chassis technology and other special technics from Stuttgart Research Center in Germany, reliability and safety performance of Foton Loxa products can be increased by 20 percent, according to Zhao Jingguang, spokesperson of Beiqi-Foton. The Foton Loxa heavy-duty machinery will share sales and service networks with part of the products of Foton Auman heavy-duty trucks. Customers of Loxa heavy-duty machineries will enjoy full aftersales service in 1,100 service centers and more than 2,000 auto parts chain stores of Beiqi-Foton.
Beiqi Foton sold over 1,000 LNG construction machineries in 2013. The company has established 17 manufacturing centers nationwide with clean energy products covering trucks, buses, MPVs and construction machineries. According to the strategic planning of Beiqi-Foton, the company will sell more than 3 million vehicles by 2020, of which over 25 percent will be energy-saving and clean energy products.
