BEIJING – Fu Qiang, who recently resigned from his post as president and CEO of Volvo Cars China Sales, will join Zhejiang Aiche Internet Intelligent Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. as CEO, according to media reports.
Aiche was established in late 2015 as a joint venture company in which Harmony Auto, a dealership group based in Henan Province, Harmony Futeng and other investors hold 28, 55 and 17 percent respectively.
Fu has worked in the auto industry for 23 years and joined Volvo Cars China in October 2012. Before that, he was vice president responsible for sales and marketing at Beijing-Benz since February 2011. He joined SAIC-Volkswagen in May 2006 in charge of Škoda sales and played a crucial role in the establishment of Škoda marketing system as well as Škoda brand building in China. He joined FAW-Volkswagen in 1991 and served numerous positions including production engineering department localization and test engineer, economic management committee first deputy general manager assistant, bank director, marketing director and deputy general manager of FAW-Volkswagen Sales.
Born in March 1966, Fu holds a master’s degree in Automobiles from Jilin Polytechnic University and joined FAW Group after graduating in 1989 focusing on full vehicle research and testing.
