GM sales increase 11.2 percent in August in China

SHANGHAI – GM and its joint ventures in China sold 245,799 vehicles in August, up 11.2 percent year-on-year, according to a company news release.

Sales of the Wuling brand in the month rose 12.4 percent to 112,139 units, and those of the Baojun brand grew 28.8 percent to 7,606 units.

In the first eight months of the year, sales of GM and its Chinese joint ventures totaled 2,034,771 units with an increase of 10.7 percent, setting a new record in China.
