German brands leads China’s luxury car segment in 2013

BEIJING – Three German brands including the Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz led China’s luxury car segment by sales in 2013, reported Gasgoo.com.

Audi stood out among all the luxury brands operating in China (including Hong Kong) by selling 491,989 units in 2013 with an increase of 21.2 percent on a yearly basis, according to a company news release.

Its A4L sales reached 120,450 units, up 20 percent, and the A6L 153,163 units, up 15.3 percent.

Sales of the BMW and Mini brand vehicles in the country climbed 19.2 percent to 416,163 units.

Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 218,000 vehicles in China (including Hong Kong) with an increase of 11 percent.
