JAC-Navistar President Joe Werth confirmed as speaker at HD 2014 in Guangzhou

BEIJING – Joe Werth, vice president of U.S. diesel engine and truck maker Navistar Inc. and president of JAC-Navistar Diesel Engine Co., Ltd., has confirmed his participation as a speaker at CBU’s 5th Annual International Heavy-Duty Conference (HD 2014) in Guangzhou this November.

HD 2014, with a theme of Competing in China and Globally: Prospects of Heavy-Duty Manufacturers and organized in association with CCPIT-Auto, will be held on November 19 at the Ritz-Carlton Guangzhou, on the eve of the 2nd Guangzhou International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition (November 20-23).

Human Capital Resource Co. Ltd. (HCP) will be the Gold Sponsor for the event, while Navistar will be the Silver Sponsor. Our media supporters are cvworld.cn, find800.cn and China Communication News.

China’s heavy-duty truck sales in the first half year of 2014 totaled around 428,956 units, up 6.53 percent from the same period last year. Despite continuous growth, the industry faces obvious challenges. The State-IV emissions standards will be enforced next year. Overcapacity remains a major issue as a result of the country’s stimulus policies in 2009 and 2010. Multinational manufacturers are expanding operations in China and Chinese manufacturers are expanding overseas.

HD 2014 will again feature keynote addresses from CEOs of multinational and domestic heavy-duty commercial vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, government officials and analysts. A welcome dinner will be held right after the conference on November 19 for speakers, sponsors and conference attendees. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit both the Guangzhou International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition (November 20-23) and the 12th China (Guangzhou) International Automobile Exhibition (Auto Guangzhou 2014, November 21-29) at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, which is about 10-15 minutes away from the conference by car.

Simultaneous interpretation in English and Chinese will be provided at the seminar.
