SHANGHAI – Jianghuai Automotive Co., Ltd. (JAC) shipped the first batch of 200 units of Gallop heavy-duty trucks, part of a 5,239 unit order, to Venezuela on November 17 at Shanghai Haitong dock, reported cvworld.cn.
The first batch of 200 Gallop trucks covers a range of trailers, self-dumpers and water tanks. The Gallop series heavy-duty trucks, by adopting high-efficiency engines of mainstream OEMs, are both powerful and have large torque. Optimized chassis system enables advanced power performance and high economy. Besides, the streamlined outer appearance design reduces wind resistance to the largest extent possible and cuts fuel consumption, according to the company.
JAC entered the Venezuela market in 2006 and obtained bulk purchase orders of government and enterprises of Venezuela such as the Oil Ministry and large transportation companies.
The company established a KD plant with its partner in Venezuela in 2012. The KD plant has assembled and sold over 6,000 commercial vehicles up-to-date with an annual capacity of 10,000 units. Sales of JAC light trucks surpassed that of General Motors and made the company the top seller in Venezuela in 2013, according to the company.
