BEIJING – JAC released four new passenger vehicle models including the Refine S3 SUV, M3 MPV, A6 car and Heyue iEV5 on April 20 at Auto China 2014.
The Refine S3 adopts a 1.5VVT engine which has a peak torque of 146 Nm, mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. Wheelbase of the small-size SUV is 2,560 mm.
JAC also debuted the concept version of its first large size SUV named SC-9, which is expected to be put into production in 2017, reported autohome.com.cn.
“JAC will further expand the MPV lineup to retain the sales growth rate and market share at the PV sector,” said Xiang Xingchu, general manager of JAC, in an interview with CBU/CAR.
“The Refine M6 MPV will hit the market at the end of 2014, and the M3 will be mass produced this year,” said Xiang.
JAC will launch an all-new small-size SUV model at yearend, according to Xiang, while the iEV5 and Heyue A20 car will be put into production in the last quarter of this year.
Xiang told CBU/CAR that JAC export volume in the first quarter dropped slightly due to trade protection policies, technical barriers and unstable global economy.
“To drive overseas sales, JAC’s manufacturing plant in Brazil will start production in the first half of 2015 with annual output capacity of 150,000 cars and light trucks.”
