Jaguar Land Rover recalls 36,451 imported Evoques in China

SHANGHAI – Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced to recall the imported Range Rover Evoque in China on March 19 due to a defect with its transmission.

A total of 36,451 Evoques made between July 15, 2013 and December 24, 2014 are involved in the recall.

The recall came after the CCTV exposed complaints on faulty transmissions by Evoque car owners at a live TV show broadcast to mark China’s annual Consumer Rights Day on March 15.

JLR said in a statement after CCTV’s criticism that there is no problem in the transmission of Chinese-made Evoques sold starting in March.
