Japanese brand sales drop in February in China

 

BEIJING – After enjoying a good start in January, major Japanese brands in February experienced a sales decline in February on a yearly basis in China.

Nissan sales reached 58,255 units, down 46 percent and Toyota sales came to 36,300 units, down 45.7 percent.

In the month, Honda saw a negative growth of 27.1 percent compared to the same month of last year with sales at 32,024 units. Sales of its two joint ventures in China, Dongfeng-Honda and GAC-Honda, were 13,108 and 18,916 units, down 36.6 and 18.7 percent respectively.

Mazda reported further sales decline to 24.7 percent with 10,433 units sold in February in China.
