Japanese brands’ B-class car sales down 2.1 percent in July

BEIJING— July sales of Japanese brands’ locally produced B-class cars dropped 2.1 percent on a yearly basis to 44,775 units, and their market share was down by 4.6 percentage points to 28.5 percent.

Toyota led the segment among the Japanese brands by the sales of 16,874 units, down 14 percent. Honda took the second position with the sales at 13,226 units, down 1.4 percent.

In the first seven months of this year, a total of 318,942 Japanese brands’ locally produced B-class cars were sold in China with a decline of 2.7 percent.

Toyota sales during the period were 121,833 units, up 5.6 percent and Honda 91,753 units, down 0.5 percent.
