Japanese brands’ B-class car sales down 9.4 percent in June

BEIJING— June sales of Japanese brands’ locally produced cars dropped 9.4 percent on a yearly basis to 45,754 units, and their market share was down by 6 percentage points to 26.9 percent.

Toyota led the segment among the Japanese brands by the sales of 18,647 units, up 6.3 percent. Honda took the second position with the sales at 13,509 units, down 7.6 percent.

In the first six months of this year, a total of 274,167 Japanese brands’ locally produced B-class cars were sold in China with a decline of 2.02 percent.

Toyota sales during the period were 104,959 units, up 9.36 percent and Honda 78,527 units, down 0.4 percent.
