KUNMING, Yunnan – Lifan Shijun Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Weichai Power Holding Co., Ltd. on June 13, indicating an expansion to the medium- and heavy-duty truck market, reported cvworld.cn.
The two parties will reinforce cooperation in technology, R&D, product, sales and marketing sectors, said Li Bin, president of Lifan Shijun.
According to Lifan, the company will preserve its low-end brand Shiyun and high-end brand Projen of its commercial vehicle segment. Lifan will get preferential products and technologies from Weichai upon the cooperation. The two companies will also collect model performance data and build R&D platform and institution. Lifan will apply Weichai WP3, WP4, WP6, WP7, WP10, WP12 and WP13 engines in its light, medium- and heavy-duty truck products in the future.
The Projen high-end heavy-duty truck of Lifan will hit the market at the end of this year with State-V emissions standards-compliant models available then. The Projen high-end light truck will also hit the market in August this year.
The Projen light and heavy-duty trucks will adopt Weichai 3L WP3Q116E50 engine and 12L WP12.430E50 engine respectively. Both products will comply with State-V emissions standards, according to the report.
The Projen Yijun light truck will adopt 5T40 transmission and Qingte 5.571 speed ratio rear axle. The Projen Tianji heavy-duty truck will be equipped with Fast AMT (F-shift) transmission and Hande drum-type 13T rear axle.
Located in Dali, Yunan Province, Lifan Shijun Group focuses on the production of light, medium- and heavy-duty trucks, agriculture vehicles, tractors, and low-speed vehicles.
