SHANGHAI – Magna International Inc. announced on May 13 that its Cosma International operating unit has expanded its footprint in China by opening a new manufacturing facility in Chongqing. A ceremony was held on May 10.
Cosma Chongqing covers a production area of 26,000 square meters and currently employs 262 people. The plant’s main products include body and chassis systems, hot-stamping parts, front engine cradles, rear axles and control arms. Main customers include Chang’an-Ford in Chongqing and FAW-Volkswagen in Chengdu, Sichuan with the capacity to grow and support additional business and customers in the future.

Cosma International, an operating unit of Magna International Inc., manufactures a comprehensive range of metal body systems, components, assemblies and modules including complete vehicle frames, chassis systems and body-in-white systems using a variety of innovative processes such as hydroforming, stamping, roll forming and die casting.
