SHANGHAI – Magna International Inc. has relocated its Shunde mirrors manufacturing facility in Guangdong Province for capacity expansion, according to a company news release.
An opening ceremony was held to celebrate the start of production in the new site and inaugurate its new name, Guangdong Magna Automotive Mirrors Co., Ltd. (Guangdong Magna).
The new facility, with a size of 34,600 square meters, has incorporated a molding shop, a paint shop and an assembly shop in one location. Guangdong Magna produces various outside mirrors, inside mirrors and door handles for global customer Nissan, trans-national joint ventures such as GAC-Honda, GAC-Toyota, GAC-Fiat and DPCA, as well as Chinese domestic OEMs such as Chery and Great Wall.
“With the construction of this new facility and world-class paint line, Magna Mirrors demonstrates our continued commitment to our customers here in China, providing them with the best quality products,” said Fred Kao, vice president of Magna Closures & Magna Mirrors Asia.
In addition to the Guangdong plant, Magna has a mirrors assembly facility in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, an outside/inside mirrors and door handle manufacturing facility in Shanghai, and an actuator and lighting systems manufacturing facility in Taicang, Jiangsu Province.
