AURORA, Ontario – Magna International Inc. said in a statement on March 9 that it would open a new seating manufacturing facility in Taizhou, China to supply seats to Geely.
This new manufacturing facility will be dedicated to providing complete seating system to a small crossover utility vehicle, which will be the first vehicle to be developed on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform of Volvo.
As Magna’s fifth seating manufacturing base in China, this new facility covers an area of 5,200 square meters and is situated in the Jiju District of Taizhou. It is set to be completed by mid-2016.
